A small poem for God / Pleroma by ~OnlyMona:iconOnlyMona:

Your hand hold my hand,
Your heartbeat in mine.
My soul be the soil,
The seed sown be Thine.

Intimate our dance;
Imminent rapture:
Not “through a glass darkly”
Your Image to capture,

But face to Your face
I see You clearly.
I yield to You now
My fealty sincerely.

Heal Thou my blindness:
Wash mud from my eyes,
Be Thou my vision,
My hope realize.

Your song be my song:
As the morning stars
Sing out Your wild joy,
I’ll sing as they are.

My Muse, as I long
Your Word to proclaim,
My soul set afire
With Your Spirit’s flame.

Author's Comments

Th first stanza of the poem came to me one night while I was praying. I got out of bed and wrote it on the computer so I wouldn't forget. The next day, I played with it a lot, and finished it.

The drawing I chose to illustrate it is called ŠėŽńłģį (pleroma). It's a New Testament Greek word for “fullness,” the word used in Colossians 2:9-10 “In Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete.” I am in awe of the idea that God is infinite. Each of the different colors is a quality in our world, and they continue out into infinity.

*Sniff* Thanks. Do you want to read it to my sister? That was really rather unexpected... and touching. That sounded silly.

Thank you. I'm touched. I had never thought of God as my muse, until I wrote that. Then I realised it's true. God- the Creator- is a source of creativity. And, I believe, he delights in it.

I may not read it to her. But I will show her. :)

I'm sure he truly does. For me, He is my comfort. I suppose he could also be my muse...for allowing things to happen to me.............hmmm.
